For your consideration, an extremely finely carved wood stature of Li Tieguai, one of the Taoist Eight Immortals, as a blind beggar, circa mild to late 19th century China. Piece looks to be carved out of rosewood or boxwood. Statue has a repair to the right hand (he's holding a bat) and a crack at the neck and chest. There is some shiny substance on the crack at the neck, maybe sap or glue? Needs professional restoration and a light cleaning. Chipping to bat wing and minimal chipping at back, one crack to base.
